Some of the ladies over at Fit Chick Express posted some really good travel snack ideas! It was then that I decided to make one of my own “snack bars” and make it out of ingredients that I would like to have in my bar. Most of the bars that I find never have enough protein for me. This recipe has a great amount of protein, along with being all natural ingredients!

Here is what I added to my snack bars:

22 dried prunes or plums

1/2 cup walnuts

1/2 cup almonds

2 TBSP peanut butter

1/8 cup coconut flakes

1tbsp cocoa nibs

2 tbsp dark chocolate chips

If it isnt sticky enough, just add more prunes! Mold into small bars ( I did like the size of the mini snack candy bars) and wrap in tinfoil or saran wrap and freeze! This made about 18 small bars. ENJOY!

I bought some other ingredients that I am going to try this week and maybe try adding in a little bit of protein powder. What things would you use in your healthy snack bars?
