Stick To It~Never Stop!

This was one of the most inpiring blog posts I have read on WDF Forums and asked permission to share it with you. This is the time of the year when motivation starts going down  hill and we start making choices that hinder our fitness progress. (I am one that has been doing that lately as well, so I totally know how it is!) So read this post and hopefully it will inspire you to “stick to it” through the holiday season!

This should be my motivator blog! I NEED REMINDERS!!!

This week I am in a training class for work and find it hard to squeeze in the time needed for exercise. I realized today that 20 minutes is better than none. I do plenty of walking and stairs during the day- but that core workout that pushes my body to the limits (weights, resistance band, exercise ball, stretches, lunges etc..) was not getting done. I had set a goal to do it yesterday – but the day got away from me and before you know it – it was after 7 p.m. and I had just arrived home from work!! Luckily I did do the pushups and some lunges before taking my shower in the morning along with my morning routine and stretches. That is what keeps me going many days!

I recommitted myself today to do the workout i had planned for yesterday. I knew with training it may be a bit before I get home – but the drive was better today than yesterday and I was home before 6 p.m. I made time for that workout – did those things that pushed me to the limits and so much more of the spontaneous things I love to do to mix up my workout. It felt GOOD! I am starting to get back into the routine again….

I keep hoping I will never lose sight of my fitness goals. It is a lifestyle change. I can’t do it for a week and then stop – it is an every day decision to eat better, walk more, do some resistance and weight training at least three times a week and drink plenty of water! (I NEED TO WRITE THOSE THINGS DOWN SOMEWHERE CLOSE BY AND READ THEM OFTEN!! – Reminders as key for me) With my meds I take for my blood disorder it is crucial for me to stay in good shape. I may never realize perfect health – but I certainly am grateful to enjoy good health. I could be in much worse shape then I am now – there are so many things I am grateful for ……. most of all the freedom to workout and feel good about my choices each day.

One more day of doing what I needed! One more – and so it goes!!!

So what are you going to recommit to today? If you need support and motivation, join us at WDF Forums!

  1. I’m going to eat candy tonight, but run in the morning. I think that’s fair right? :)

  2. I also do my best to eat smart all the time, so that when I do give in to a craving or have a slice of pizza, I know that the rest of the time I am spot on. With the holidays coming, I will just assess all my meals and make sure that I eat healthy and moderate my consumption of junk food like turkey stuffing. Pies, cakes, and candy will be consumed very sporadically, and workouts must not be missed.
