My Best Made Up Recipe Yet..

img00212I am always experimenting with different recipes for protein bars and finally have came up with one that is not only tasty, but moist. That always seemed to be the hardest part, making them moist. I used a recipe from the Gourmet Nutrition cookbook (which is one of my favorite used cookbooks) and then kind of made it my own. For a person like myself who loves chocolate, I can just pop one of these in my mouth, get my chocolate craving satisfied and not over do it with calories!

Protein Bars Recipe

2 scoops chocolate protein powder

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

1/2 cup almond meal

3 TBSP natural peanut butter

2 TBSP pecas

2 TBSP Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding

1/2 cup water

Mix until gooey and pour into 8×8 pan. Make sure to spray pan first. Cook for 10-15 minutes at 375. Make sure to check frequently and not over cook. Makes 16 bars

Here are the nutrition facts per serving:

Calories=74

Carbs= 3 grams

Fat= 4 grams

Protein= 7 grams

I am going to play around with different flavors of pudding, and different nuts and see what happens.
