Mondays Motivation
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

How is it that we get our motivation back and keep it?
My motivation is due to me being a personal trainer. I need to be a good role model to my clients, because who wants to trained by an overweight, huffing and puffing personal trainer? I know I wouldn’t!
For you, you could be a role model for your children. Child obesity is so high right now, its almost sickening. By showing your child that you eat healthy foods and workout regularly, they will want to follow your lead. I have one client who brings her child with her to my house when she trains. For the most part, her son goes and plays on his own, but there are times when he just watches his mom exercise and she has commented that at home he tries to do “t-ups” and “push ups” and he is only 2. Amazing….
For some people, the motivation could be led by wanting to get off of their heart medications or high blood pressure medications. You see that happen on The Biggest Loser all the time. Everyone one of my clients that I have had for a long period of time, has been able to go off of medications such as these as well. What a motivator! Knowing that you will live a long and healthy life without taking those medications.
How about for increased energy? I don’t have one client that has not told me that even within the first couple weeks of regular workouts and cleaning up their nutrition, they have more energy than they have had in a long time! Who wouldn’t want more energy??
Setting goals can help with motivation. Set goals for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and so on. When you start reaching those goals, you get more of that “I can do this” attitude and makes you want even more!
It just feels good! Isn’t that motivation enough? To know that you are taking care of your body and are strengthening your bones and your heart so that you can live forever? To get that “ahhh..I feel GREAT” feeling after you finished a hard workout….that is definitely enough motivation for me. When I take more than 3 days off, I just feel off. So when I do get back into my workouts, its an amazing feeling!
My challenge to you this week is to find YOUR motivation and write it down. Then get started on that workout and nutrition plan and make it happen!
