I Did It!
I finally did it! I increased my shoulder press weight to 2o lb. DBs!! I know..20lbs doesn’t sound like much to some people..but to me..it sure is!
The whole time I did the FYM workouts, I just couldn’t bring myself to increase them from the 15lbs I had been doing. It actually didn’t seem to get any easier, so I didn’t think I was ready. Until TODAY!!
Today I did my first set with the 15’s, only 8 repetitions, but what was planned. I thought to myself, “that wasn’t that hard-maybe I can try the 20’s”. So I picked up the 20’s and did 2 more sets of 8 repetitions! Granted the last 3 repetitions of the last set was a big rough, but I did it! And with great form!
I have also increased my incline press to 25lbs and rows to 25 lbs. I am slowly getting there, but honestly never thought I would be using those heavy of weights! It’s so exhilarating!

That’s amazing! My little 8lbs weights are challenging enough for me:)
Are you still drinking green tea in place of the coffee?
Sagans last blog post..Learning Healthy Lessons
Yes Sagan..day 4 of no coffee…I sure was tempted this morning, but thought of being held accountable on here, so I choose the tea! Kudos to ME!
Wow, that’s a big jump from 15 to 20, congratulations! At our gym we have a 17 1/2, which comes in handy for the shoulder press. I hate when the increments are so big that it’s hard to make much progress. You’ve got me motivated to try for 20 now.
Thanks Crabby!
Yea, I don’t have anything in between, so it was a big jump, but I was so excited when I was able to do it! Sometimes you can even surprise yourself if you just give it a try! Let me know when you hit that “20″!
